What to Expect on Your First Visit
Visiting a new dental office can come with questions and uncertainty. At Kvinsland Dentistry, we focus on making your first visit clear, comfortable, and unrushed so you know exactly what to expect.
New patient visits are structured a little differently here. Instead of trying to fit everything into a single appointment, we schedule two initial visits. This allows more time with your doctor, a thorough review of your records, and a more thoughtful approach to your care. There is no additional cost for this extra time.

Before You Arrive
To help make your visit as smooth as possible, we recommend completing your patient forms before your appointment. This reduces waiting time and allows our team to prepare for your visit in advance.
If you are unable to complete the forms ahead of time, our team is happy to assist you when you arrive.
What to Bring
Please bring the following items to your first appointment:
Dental insurance information, if applicable. We are happy to submit claims on your behalf.
Recent dental X-rays or records, if available. You request previous providers to forward them to our office.
A list of current medications and supplements.
The names and locations of past dental providers.

Medical History and Safety
Your overall health plays an important role in your dental care. Certain medical conditions and medications can affect treatment decisions, comfort, and healing.
If you have conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, joint replacements, or other medical concerns, please let our team know before your visit. If you have questions about what information to share, please call our office at 253.851.9171.
Exam, Cleaning, and Records
During your initial visits, our team will gather any necessary records to support your care. This may include dental X-rays, digital photographs, and other diagnostic information.
You will meet with Dr. Kvinsland or Dr. Neal for a comprehensive exam. Together, we will review your oral health, discuss any concerns, and determine the type of cleaning that is most appropriate for you.
Your dental hygienist will provide the recommended cleaning based on your individual needs. Our goal is to make this process comfortable while ensuring thorough care.
Your Care Plan and Next Steps
After your exam, your doctor will review any findings with you and discuss recommended treatment options. You will work together to create a care plan that supports both your immediate needs and long-term oral health goals.
